National Honor Society
The National Honor Society (NHS) is a prestigious organization that recognizes high school students who excel in scholarship, leadership, service, and character. Membership in NHS is both an honor and a commitment, as students are expected to uphold these values while actively contributing to their school and community.
To be eligible for NHS at Mountain Crest High School, students must meet the following requirements:
- Maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.8 or higher.
- Take at least half (8) of their course load each year from the approved list of academic courses. A list of approved courses is available from the school counselor (also referenced in the SEOP booklet).
- Submit a formal written application at the beginning of the third trimester.
- Maintain 90% or better attendance with fewer than 10% tardies (excluding school-excused absences).
- Students may apply for membership in their sophomore, junior, or senior year, but they must meet all requirements each year to remain eligible.
