Changes this Year

Purpose Behind Changes

Mustang Success

This is our intervention time. After careful consideration and input we have attached the new schedule for you to see. The Mustang Success time will be after 3rd hour and before lunch. In order for students to not have to be accounted for they must have a 3.0 GPA, 90% attendance, and NO F's, 5 tardies count as an absence.

Cell phone policy

Cell phones are to be put away during class time. They are not to be seen from bell to bell. Students can have their cell phones during break time and lunch time only. If their cell phone is out for any reason during class it will be taken to the admin. Phone calls will be made in the

office only or during the break time. See handbook for more details.

Parking

We will not be charging for parking this year. Students are free to park anywhere.

Mustang Academy Class

This is a 9thgrade class only. This is taught 3rd hour for all 9thgrade students. This is a class that will help 9thgrade students learn how to become the best high school student they can be. We feel this will help all students become successful.

Scanning In

As a school we are going to a new scan in system. Students will scan in with their ID cards or ID number each day, each hour. Students can use their old ID cards until we get them a new one on August 21't,22nd. Teachers will have their student ID numbers to make sure they scanned in. This will allow us to know where each student is at all times. Students will no longer check in at

the office. They will go straight to class and scan in.

As a school we do have an athletic website that is up to date as well. You can find this at http://mchsmustangs.com You can find when tryouts are and what up-coming athletic events are happening. Just a reminder to all that in order to tryout for a high school sport the student must have a 2.0 GPA in the prier trimester and 90% attendance. Freshman (9th graders), their trimester starts in August.

Students and parents, we ask that you go over the different policies for the new school year as some have changed. You can find all of these policies on the website.

Once again, we welcome you back to another great year at Mountain Crest High School.
