Concurrent Enrollment & AP
Concurrent Enrollment (CE) and EDNET
Recommended: cumulative 3.0 GPA
Concurrent Enrollment provides an excellent opportunity for motivated high school students to earn both high school and university credit by taking rigorous, college-level courses right here at Mountain Crest. These courses are identical to their university counterparts in content, materials, and expectations.
To be eligible, students must:
- Maintain a high GPA (we recommend having a 3.0 high school GPA).
- Typically be a junior or senior (exceptions can be made for freshman or sophomores students by talking to your counselor).
- Apply for concurrent enrollment admissions to the university offering the course (most are through USU, some through WSU and Snow College).
- Register directly with the university each trimester. Be mindful of deadlines: a $100 USU late registration fee applies after 12 school days.
- Pay a tuition of just $5 per credit directly to the university each trimester. A $15 USU late payment fee applies after 12 school days.
We also offer broadcast EDNET courses from USU, providing even more university-level options. It's important to remember that these are demanding, college-level classes. The grade you earn counts for both high school and college, and a D or F could jeopardize future university admission. Only register if you're prepared for the challenge!

Advanced Placement (AP)
Ready for a college-level challenge? Advanced Placement (AP) classes are intensive, year-long courses designed to prepare you for the College Board AP Examinations held each spring. Earning a qualifying score on an AP exam can translate into valuable college credit at most four-year universities. These exams typically feature both multiple-choice and free-response questions (except for the Studio Art portfolio). AP courses require a significant commitment and strong academic effort. Although there are no strict prerequisites, we strongly advise students to have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 to ensure success. Be aware that each AP exam costs approximately $100.
